  16. Remove the Jumper on JP1001 (#1)

  18. Solder Pads JP1002 (#2) & JP1003 (#3)

  20. (Pads Closed after Modicication #2 #3 #4)

  22. Close Case & Reset Processor by Holding the Mhz Rev Low D/MR keys while 
  23. Powering up.

  26. Remember it is Illegal to transmit out of band. This Modification is
  27. for Informational purposes ONLY.  Doing such modifications on your
  28. radio may void any warranty and damage your equiptment.

  30. Note that for the vast majority of cases, using your amateur radio to
  31. transmit on non-ham and/or non-MARS frequencies is illegal, even if you
  32. are properly licensed and/or authorized to operate in one or more
  33. non-ham bands.

  35. It doesn't matter if you're a deputy sheriff, a firefighter, or an FBI
  36. agent. The FCC rules are clear on this. Non type-accepted equipment
  37. (i.e. consumer grade amateur gear) may not be used on these
  38. frequencies. To be legal, you must get a type accepted radio (like a
  39. Motorola) and modify it to operate on Ham Frequencies - not the other
  40. way around.
